I love to paint! I have an associate in specialized business degree in illustration. About a year after I recieved that degree, I went back to the same school for a one semester fantasy art program. Fantasy art is what I prefer to do. You really have to think about everything and I love that its always full of challenges. My medium of choice is acrylics. My ultimate goal is to be able to make a comfortable living off my original fantasy paintings. Until then I'm up for any freelance work that comes along. Prints of my artwork can be purchased off my personal website www.kaylafantasyart.com and will be handled with paypal.
Interests
Thanks so much everyone for the birthday wishes  Sorry to make it so late. They are very much appreciated, I just have been very busy lately between work, art, and reorganizing things in my apartment. I am currently working on two different paintings. One is my own take of Marie Laveau and the other for is for a new art collective run by two of my dearest friends on here :iconstefaniarusso: and :iconsandrahultsved: It is the Memento Tea Art Collective and focuses on Dark Gothic/Horror art. The first auction will be in September with the theme Tea, Biscuits, and the Death Party. You can find out more and see who the other artists are here on their website mementotea.wixsite.com/collect… or on the Facebook Page www.facebook.com/mementoteacol… I'm also working on a drawing of the four Horsemen of the Apocalypse from the show Supernatural that is finally getting close to being done. I don't post much on here anymore, but do post several WIP photos and give updates on my Facebook Page www.facebook.com/ascenciok/ If anyone has a Facebook page of their own I don't already like, please leave me the link

A full body takes around 6 hours or so.

that would just be devastating to me to spend 6 hours on such an impressive display of art and have the person just go an wash it off LOL! on the other hand you take pics very well of the final result so i guess its not that bad for you

Are you working in the field? You were smart in getting the business degree. It will save you a lot of headaches in the future.

i don't think you will have any problem getting the front cover someday. good luck! i usually get pretty into detailing but painting every single one on those animals not for me LOL! you don't have any pics of them up on here do you? right now i haven't really been doing anything except working on getting better and trying to get all my scans done. i just quit my job which has nothing to do with art so i will have time to focus on what i love. right now the plan is to get all the scans done in order to start my own website where i can sell prints and possibly the originals. i know you can sell prints on here to. i might put up all the good scan pics when i get them done to bring in a little extra money. some of the ones i have up on here are from a digital camera so they have a little glare on them. i have 2 more weeks of work then after that i'll see if i can find any art jobs i might be interested in.

Keep it up! Your doing some great work. If you want to see some of the animals just go to my site. Click enter and then click on the "Other Art" icon. Click the "Nature" icon and the "Green Cay" Icon on the bottom right.

thanks! i know i still have a lot more getting better to do but now since i don't have a job i can get there faster. it didn't hurt having an excellent teacher thats an established fantasy artist. without him my artwork really would be nothing. my stuff from when i first started painting is so bad compared to what i'm doing now i won't even show it to anybody LOL! i checked out you sculptures and everthing else on you website. very impressive! it might of drove you crazy painting every single feather and detail on the sculpts but it was well worth your time. they look amazingly realistic. i like how you have the website set up also. how long have you been painting for?

All my work is traditionally painted except for my work art. That is all done digitally. The cutting is a pain but I only cut the large areas. For the detailed areas I'll cut it in with a brush and feather in the areas with an airbrush. It's still a pain. LOL
I use an airbrush because it's the only way I can get my look. I tried painting with oils once but ended up getting more paint on me that on the pic.

i love the style of your work. airbrush gives a beautiful perfect blend. i could tell the girls were def with a regular airbrush but all that detail in the background is what had me questioning if there was digital involved. i don't think anybody could keep their sanity frisketing all that off LOL! i hate it so much i don't even use it when i do airbrush. i just use stencils cut out of heavier paper to try and protect areas. i def need some more practice with it to work on the little bit of overspray i get but i prefer acylics anyway. i like to make things up as i go along and with the airbrush you have to plan them out to much. i change my mind a lot LOL!

your welcome! was just browsing through the traditional art section and and after a few pages of really bad artwork one of yours came up. just haven't gotten around to commenting any of your work yet. i'm not really a fan of watercolors but i do really like your stuff. it makes me to nervous knowing one drop of water in the wrong place can completly ruin it LOL!
